Mount Rushmore National Memorial

The four presidents, about a 25-minute drive from the cabin.

Carved between 1927 and 1941 under sculptor Gutzon Borglum, Mount Rushmore depicts Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Lincoln. The Avenue of Flags leads to the best views, and the Presidential Trail takes you closer to the base.

In season there is an evening lighting ceremony. Arrive for the late afternoon and stay for the lights.
