Deadwood

A Wild West gold-rush town that is a National Historic Landmark.

Deadwood is the Black Hills' gold-rush legend: a whole town preserved as a National Historic Landmark, with brick storefronts, saloons and Old West stories on every block.

Walk Main Street, hear the tales of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane, and visit Mount Moriah Cemetery where both are buried. There are also casinos, so check age limits for those.

Highlights

  • Historic Main Street
  • Mount Moriah Cemetery
  • Old West history
  • Museums and saloons

Local tips
