Dinosaur Park

Giant concrete dinosaurs on a hilltop above Rapid City.

Dinosaur Park on Skyline Drive has been a Rapid City landmark since the 1930s, when life-size concrete dinosaurs were built on the ridge as a Depression-era project.

Kids love posing with the big dinosaurs, and the hilltop looks out over the city. It only takes a short while, so it fits easily around other Rapid City stops.

Highlights

  • Life-size concrete dinosaurs
  • Views over Rapid City
  • A Depression-era landmark
  • A short, easy stop

Local tips

  • Check hours and any seasonal closures before you go.
